The Children of St. John’s Church
Our children’s gatherings aim to build community in Christ through play, exploration of the Bible, Creeds & Prayers, creative response, & participation in musical worship. We follow along with the church calendar in order to encourage family immersion in the story of our faith.
Infants and Toddlers (newborn – age 3)
Our nursery is available on the first floor of Cranmer Hall from 9:15 until the end of the 10:30 service.
For parents attending the 9:30 a.m. Sunday School hour, Pre-K through 5th graders will participate in supervised fellowship and play in the classroom on the second floor of Cranmer Hall.
During the 10:30 a.m. Church Service, Pre-K (potty trained age 3+) and Kindergartners meet in the front classroom on the second floor of Cranmer Hall. This class enjoys fellowship play, Bible lessons, artistic response, and songs.
Please sign your child in upon drop-off and enjoy the service! Your little ones are in good hands with our qualified nursery staff. For peace of mind, we will use your cell phone number to notify as needed.
Children in 1st – 5th Grade
Children experience the first part church with their parents, and we also offer a fun and formative time for their developmental level. Children will attend the beginning of church at 10:30 and then as instructed in your Sunday Booklet children are dismissed for Children’s Church. The Children’s Chapel on the second floor of Cranmer Hall is the primary venue for Christian Education and Formation of elementary-aged children.
Weekly lessons, important information and photos of the children are shared on our group Facebook page, “St. John’s Children.” Please request to join the group, if you are not already a member. We are looking forward to a wonderful school year!
All children and youth must be registered for the school year. To register click HERE.
If you are unable to complete the registration forms, paper copies will be available in Cranmer Hall.
Volunteer are Needed:
All parents are asked to volunteer at least twice during the school year, either as a teacher’s aide or building supervisor. Any confirmed member of St. John’s (at least 16 years old) may volunteer as a teacher’s aide and we would especially appreciate support from grandparents and youth. All volunteers are required to complete the Safeguarding God’s Children online course every three years. If you have not already taken the course or need a refresher go online at http://georgia.anglican.org/about/clergy/safeguarding/. If you have any questions regarding Safeguarding God’s Children contact Janice Woods in our church office at 912-232-1251
